Bitget Wallet integrates XRP Ledger into its payment system for 90 million users

Bitget Wallet has integrated the XRP Ledger into its ecosystem, giving its 90 million users access to XRP transfers, RLUSD transfers, and chain-chain exchanges built into one of the largest unregistered crypto platforms.

The move allows for wider distribution of XRPL while placing Ripple’s dollar-backed stablecoin within a wallet built around payments, not just transactions.

The release integrates XRPL into Bitget Wallet’s Onchain Payments Matrix, which the company describes as an infrastructure that connects blockchains with the rails of banks, cards, and merchant payments. Bitget states that users will be able to send and receive XRP and RLUSD on XRPL, exchange XRPL assets across multiple chains, use fiat on and off ramp for RLUSD, and interact with XRPL based applications directly within the wallet.

Ripple says that RLUSD is natively issued on the XRP Ledger and Ethereum, is fully backed by a decentralized currency and equivalent currency, and can be redeemed one by one with US dollars. This structure has made RLUSD one of the most visible challengers in the dollar-driven stablecoin competition, even if it remains a fraction of the market leaders.

For XRPL, the Bitget Wallet tie up adds another way to distribute transactions at a time when the network is leaning more towards payments and real-world use cases. The official website of XRPL lists cheap cards and payments, while Bitget’s recent tools have also shown the use of XRPL cards as part of their daily use.

Bitget Wallet implemented the integration as part of a larger shift where crypto wallets become full financial systems instead of simple storage devices. The company said it will combine the integration with short-term incentives that promote the use of RLUSD, funds, and activities for XRPL users.
