Hundreds of thousands of Americans are on alert after a Texas health care company suffered a major cyber security breach.
In the latest filing with the Maine Attorney General’s Office, Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital he says 257,073 people are affected by a data breach that allowed an “unauthorized party” to access their computer systems and information systems.
Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital is a public medical and surgical center that offers inpatient and outpatient surgery, intensive care (ICU), emergency care, and imaging.
The hospital says an intruder accessed its systems and stole files containing personal or health information, including names, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, Social Security numbers, dates of birth, medical record numbers, account numbers, health plan beneficiary numbers and all possible photos.
“On January 31, 2026, Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital became aware of a data security breach due to a cyber attack in which an unauthorized group compromised Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital’s computer systems and information systems.
After repurposing our computer environment from unauthorized access, we strengthened and strengthened our network security and completed an investigation to determine the extent of unauthorized access within the Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital network. “
Nacogdoches encourages its patients to be vigilant and immediately report any suspected or suspected misuse of privacy to the authorities. So far, the healthcare provider has said it has seen no evidence that patient information has been misused.
