Up to $10,000 Individually Goes to Victims of Cybersecurity Attack on Tech Firm


The tech company is settling with users affected by a cybersecurity incident that exposed customer data including confidential information.

According to court documents, LastPass US has it he agreed The proposed class-action lawsuit stemmed from a data breach that occurred between August 2022 and November 2022 and involved users of password management systems.

LastPass agreed to pay $8.2 million in cash benefits from the fund, including $10,000 in reimbursements for mysteriously lost records. In addition, users may receive small payments for general damages or legal damages based on eligibility and documentation.

The settlement notice states that the fund will provide “reimbursement of up to $10,000 per claimant for extraordinary damages incurred as a result of the Event,” a payout that can be adjusted based on the number of total claims.

According to the class action complaint, LastPass allegedly failed to follow sufficient security measures to protect user data, and breached public information such as names, billing addresses, email addresses and customer data storage.

In addition to financial compensation, the settlement also includes benefits such as credit and data analysis services for affected users. Applications must be submitted by July 2, 2026, and final approval is scheduled for July 14, 2026.
