The warning came from a new protocol group, which has been sent emergency message urging donors to leave “better safe than sorry.” The warning came seven hours after onchain researcher ZachXBT identified Keisuke Watanabe, who served as Stabble’s CTO last year, as a North Korean hacker.
Liquidity fled first, reality came second
This was enough to trigger a quick response from users. According to reports and Related to DeFiLlama figures that have been publicly quoted, Stabble started the day with $1.75 million in total closed value. After the warning, that number dropped to $663,000, a drop of nearly 62%.
There is, to date, no confirmed rape directly linked to Stabble himself. This fact is important. The fear was driven by the threat of peers and colleagues, not by evidence that the protocol funds had already run out.
