FBI, Thai Police Seize $580M in Crypto Scam Crackdown

In the largest international law enforcement operation, the FBI and the Royal Thai Police raided a drug bust in Thailand, seizing more than 8,000 phones, 1,300 hard drives, and freezing $580 million in cryptocurrency related to fraud targeting US citizens. These factories, also located in Myanmar, Cambodia, and Laos, forced market workers to engage in “pig killing” scams that lure people with fake relationships or financial advice before stealing their money. A joint task force arrested 21 suspects, and FBI agents are now in Thailand to investigate blockchain activity to destroy the entire network instead of just fraud.
