The US national debt has now risen by about $571.28 billion this year as Treasury data shows the national debt is approaching $39 trillion.
According to the US Treasury Debt to the Penny dataset, all government debt is outstanding he is standing up at a staggering $38.969 trillion as of April 7, 2026.
The national debt continues to rise as the federal government spends more and spends more through additional borrowing. Debt to Penny is a daily measure of total debt outstanding and includes both private and public debt.
