Crypto.com will host a UFC fight event at the White House on June 14, commemorating America’s 250th birthday and the largest bonus pool in the sport, according to announcement at the end of the week from UFC and crypto exchange.
The exchange will distribute $1 million to selected fighters on the UFC Freedom 250 card, issued in CRO tokens. With CRO recently trading above $0.068, the pool currently represents approximately 14.6 million CRO tokens.
“This is the most popular sports event in history, and it’s a night where every fight has the potential to be the Fight of the Night,” UFC President and CEO Dana White said in a statement. “Crypto.com is offering fighters the biggest bonus in UFC history, with $1 million on the line. The world will be watching on June 14.”
The fight card features lightweight champion Ilia Topuria against longtime champion Justin Gaethje in the main event, while former two-division champion Alex Pereira seeks an unprecedented third UFC title against Ciryl Gane. The event will take place at Paramount+ in the United States, and coincides with the 10th anniversary of the crypto exchange.
“I can’t think of a better way to celebrate Crypto.com’s 10th anniversary than by making history at the White House,” said Kris Marszalek, founder and CEO of Crypto.com. “We are humbled to join our long-time partners at the UFC and partner with Freedom 250 – an event that goes beyond sports.”
The partnership between Crypto.com and the UFC began in 2021, when the exchange became the first Official Fight Kit Partner Agreement. The companies also partnered with the UFC’s digital collectibles, aka NFTs, through the Crypto.com platform. The UFC also has a blockchain tech partner in VeChain, and a FIGHT symbol allowed on Solana and BNB Chain.
The UFC has also introduced the largest marketplace Polymarket to have a permanent contract, and at the end of the week, one trader on the platform did a great job on “mistakes”. turning a $500 bet into a $252,000 win after seeing that the wrong battle results were announced on the radio.
Crypto.com has previously partnered with one of President Trump’s business ventures, linking up with the Trump Media & Technology Group to take action.
