A bank manager in the United States has been accused of stealing thousands of dollars from an elderly customer’s account and his branch office.
The US Federal Reserve he says Sandra Adams, a former branch manager and BSA agent for an Illinois bank until she was fired on July 10, 2024, was convicted of stealing $16,000 from an elderly customer’s account and $4,000 directly from the bank itself.
“On several occasions from November 2023 to July 2024, Adams embezzled more than $16,000 from the accounts of elderly bank customers, and stole approximately $4,000 from the branch’s locker and locker, resulting in a $20,000 loss to the Bank.”
As a result of its actions, which the Fed said violated laws, regulations, and banking policies,
Adams is banned from participating in the banking industry again.
It is unclear what Adams did with the stolen money.
“Adam’s actions were violations of laws or regulations, unsafe or unsound banking practices, or breaches of duty, as well as his dishonesty and willful and persistent disregard for the safety and soundness of the Bank.”
