A data security incident that targeted a Tennessee health care provider compromised the personal information of 67,115 people.
In his words, Tri-Cities Gastroenterology he says that on or about December 11, 2025, an unauthorized actor accessed certain systems on the company’s network.
The results of a forensic investigation released on April 22, 2026 show that files that have been removed from the Internet contain sensitive personal information, including their full name, social security number, date of birth, address, email address, phone number, gender and medical history.
Tri-Cities Gastroenterology says there is no indication that the security breach led to fraud or identity theft but decided to notify those affected. The company also advised them best practices for protecting their information.
“As of April 29, 2026, Tri-Cities Gastroenterology has notified individuals whose information was included in the files that may have been accessed and deleted by an unauthorized party.”
The company says it provided official credit checks to those whose Social Security numbers were included in the affected files.
