The personal data of 123,158 people may have been exposed after a financial firm suffered a ransomware-related cyber security breach.
According to new data from the Maine Attorney General, the American Lending Center reported a violation of the foreign order affecting 123,158 people, including 120 Maine residents.
The Irvine, California-based company said the breach occurred between July 24, 2025 and July 30, 2025, and was discovered on July 27, 2025.
According to the information sent by the company, the American Lending Center launched an investigation after discovering what happened and confirmed that an unauthorized actor had access to its internal network, sent ransomware and obtained other files containing personal information.
The Company completed its review of the affected information on April 8, 2026 and began notifying affected individuals on April 28, 2026.
The information that may be disclosed may include names, dates of birth, Social Security information and other personal information, with information that varies from person to person.
American Lending Center said it has implemented additional security measures and enhanced security after the incident.
The company offers identity theft protection services through IDX, including credit monitoring, CyberScan monitoring, identity theft management services and a $1,000,000 insurance reimbursement plan.
