‘The Sandbox’ Co-Founder’s Wife Pursuing Crypto Hacking Attempt: Report

Wife of Sébastien Borget, co-founder metaverse gaming platform Sandboxwas tried in an attempted robbery at his home in France this week, according to reports local media.

According to police sources cited in The Sunday Journalone man approached Borget’s house in Villenoy, Seine-et-Marne looking like a courier and carrying cardboard boxes. When Borget’s wife opened the gate, five of her friends ran into the courtyard of the house and tried to drag her into the Citroën C3, stopping when the neighbors intervened.

Two young people were arrested for attempted robbery, identified as Mateo V., born in 2010, and Walid H., born in 2009, both from Pantin in Seine-Saint-Denis.

Authorities say they found the pair carrying a fake gun, zip ties, and knives during the arrest. The other four suspects involved in the crash are still at large.

In a tweetBorget said she was “really touched” by the messages of support she received after the incident, adding, “Thank you for the love, the thoughtful messages, and the heartfelt words for my family.”

France and crypto theft

France has emerged as the epicenter of the so-called “Wrench attack,” where crypto owners are threatened and robbed with violence to force them to surrender their rights bags.
