Wife of Sébastien Borget, co-founder metaverse gaming platform Sandboxwas tried in an attempted robbery at his home in France this week, according to reports local media.
According to police sources cited in The Sunday Journalone man approached Borget’s house in Villenoy, Seine-et-Marne looking like a courier and carrying cardboard boxes. When Borget’s wife opened the gate, five of her friends ran into the courtyard of the house and tried to drag her into the Citroën C3, stopping when the neighbors intervened.
Two young people were arrested for attempted robbery, identified as Mateo V., born in 2010, and Walid H., born in 2009, both from Pantin in Seine-Saint-Denis.
Authorities say they found the pair carrying a fake gun, zip ties, and knives during the arrest. The other four suspects involved in the crash are still at large.

France and crypto theft
France has emerged as the epicenter of the so-called “Wrench attack,” where crypto owners are threatened and robbed with violence to force them to surrender their rights bags. Per JDDThe National Directorate of the Judicial Police has registered 41 crypto-linked theft attempts since the beginning of the year.
To date, there have been 135 cases of crypto-theft in France recorded since 2023—representing about 80% of all cases in Europe. This operation has caused the government to take immediate action, and 88 were charged with 12 investigative casesand increasing security concerns among blockchain administrators.
Last month, Jonathan Riss, Blockchain Intelligence Analyst at CertiK, said Decrypt that France “is among the top three countries in the world for data breaches,” says a leakage to the National ID agency ANTS which revealed the information of 12 million citizens.
The latest hack follows several high-profile crypto crimes in the country, including the hacking and hacking of co-founder Ledger. David Ballandattempted home invasion CEO of Binance Franceand robbing the magistrate and his mother for crypto redemption.
The French authorities have tried to deal with the problem. At Paris Blockchain Week 2026, Minister Delegate Jean-Didier Berger were exposed to protective measures including volunteers to avoid the platform, when choosing French cryptocurrency traders and their families are given increased security.
