Anthropic said Thursday it went up $65 billion in the Series H funding round, valuing the company at $965 billion after funding and emphasizing the value of building and using frontier AI models.
The round was led by Altimeter Capital, Dragoneer, Greenoaks, and Sequoia Capital, along with investors including Blackstone, Fidelity, Lightspeed Venture Partners, and Temasek.
“Earlier this month, our revenue surpassed $47 billion,” Anthropic he wrote at X. “This growth has been driven by organizations in many industries deploying Claude in their major projects, as well as by the number of people using it in their daily work.”
The company said the funding will support security research and interpretation while expanding the computing resources needed to train and run powerful AI models. At the same time, investors said the investment shows the importance of Claude AI’s Anthropic models among businesses.
“Claude’s progress has led to significant adoption among the world’s most challenging organizations,” Altimeter Capital founder and CEO Brad Gerstner said in a statement. “This acceleration positions Anthropic to lead the next phase of AI innovation.”
Anthropic’s valuation of $965 billion now surpasses the last valuation of its biggest rival. In March, AI software developer OpenAI announced a valuation of $852 billion following a $122 billion financing, saying that demand for ChatGPT, business AI tools, and computing power is increasing worldwide.
This news comes in the wake of several partnerships and funding sources Amazon, Google, Broadcomand Images of SpaceXthus, it is Anthropic’s goal to develop the computing power needed to train and run Claude.
