BlackRock Sells $230 Million in Bitcoin and Buys Ethereum: What’s Really Going On?

BlackRock sold 3,671 BTC for about $230 million and bought 10,566 ETH for about $17.71 million in a popular chain move.

The move comes at one of the most volatile times in 2026 for both Bitcoin and Ethereum, with ETF-heavy outflows hitting BlackRock’s biggest holdings.

The price of Ethereum to buy pushed the amount of ETH to more than 10,000 ETH on the connected bag during surgery. This shows the growing popularity of the industry, even though Bitcoin is still a big issue in the crypto market.

This move shows Ethereum’s continued ambition. It also shows that BlackRock continues to manage its digital space rather than passively, shifting divisions based on opportunities, valuations, and global market trends.
