RippleX Engineer Says Market Has Stopped Talking Cases and Started Talking XRP

Ayo Akinyele, Head of Engineering at RippleX, says the crypto market has moved past the legal noise that once covered XRP and is now listening to what technology can do.

“I think the market is going back to technology because the applications are real,” Akinyele said in a recent interview. Thinking Crypto Podcast.

He explained that years of SEC headlines took away the attention of corporations that were quietly building on the ground. “What’s happened in the last couple of years is that the SEC heads have confused the public about corporate interests that were kind of confusing,” he said. “And I think because that’s gone, the use cases are starting to happen.”

According to Akinyele, organizations are drawn to the XRP Ledger mainly because it is decentralized and focused on financial issues that are difficult to find elsewhere. He cited low maintenance costs, low fees, and fast, predictable turnaround times as major advantages of recording real-world use cases.

JPMorgan, Mastercard, and Ondo Finance Pilot Tokenized Treasuries on XRPL

Akinyele also talked about a recent partnership involving Ripple, JPMorgan, Mastercard, and Ondo Finance, where a tokenized economy was used to finance border transactions on the XRP Ledger.

“I think because of Ripple’s reputation as an investment house, I think it was a natural progression of things that Ripple was invested in,” he said. He explained that the operator was built around XRPL’s low-cost way of making things, and the cost comes when the things need to move.

“When the goods are displayed, then it goes hand in hand with the management of the goods,” said Akinyele. “Mobility, fixed time, the ability to connect to chain markets and chainless machines, that’s where all of this is still coming.”

He also highlighted the possibility of managing capital flows and capital flows as a prominent part of the partnership. “I think it’s something we need to do quickly, and without the friction that we’ve seen in traditional finance,” he said.

Beyond Payments: XRPL as a Digital Asset Manager

Akinyele described the ledger revolution as something close to a digital asset manager, not just real estate, but debt markets and stablecoins, including Ripple’s RLUSD.

“I think this is a good comparison,” he said when asked if the XRP Ledger now functions as an on-chain asset manager. “Their management includes the credit markets. So it’s all consolidated in one place where you can get all sides.”

He added that Ondo Finance’s OUSG Treasury Fund and Mastercard’s multi-token network are both represented on the XRPL, strengthening the ledger’s role as a link between traditional finance and blockchain technology.

“We are not trying to change the existing funds,” said Akinyele. “We’re just trying to upgrade it in a way that opens up a lot without changing what’s on top.”
