The Federal Reserve Board (FRB) has said that an employee of a US bank stole six coins from a customer.
When Brenda Fuson was working as a banker at the Regions Bank branch in Smithville, Tennessee, she he stole $327,500 from a customer, says FRB.
From April 2022 to July 2024, Fuson debited $323,500 from customer accounts in a row.
He also took $4,000 from the customer’s cash box.
As a result of the local police investigation, Fuson was removed from the bank on August 2, 2024.
Last year, he pleaded guilty to robbery in a Tennessee state court, and agreed to pay restitution for the money stolen from the bank.
Because of his involvement, the Fed bans Fuson from working at any bank.
According to the Fed’s approval,
“Fuson’s conduct was a violation of law or regulation, unsafe banking practices or breach of fiduciary duty, and included his dishonesty and his willful and persistent disregard for bank security.”
In his words at the time of his arrest, Regions Bank he said,
“Our teams are working closely with law enforcement to assist in this investigation. We have zero tolerance for the type of behavior reported in this case. Rest assured, we will take all appropriate steps to resolve this matter based on the outcome of this investigation.”
Regions Bank, also known as Regions Financial Corporation (RF), has $159 billion in assets under management.
