The Intercontinental Exchange (ICE), the parent company of the New York Stock Exchange, and the crypto exchange OKX have established a partnership that will operate as a US-regulated broker and futures commission.
Former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo will support the project.
The company will allow OKX customers in the US and other countries opportunity ICE futures contracts and the New York Stock Exchange organized tokenized equities markets.
Cuomo will share the chairmanship with Trabue Bland, ICE’s senior vice president for future exchanges.
He has advised OKX on policy issues since 2022, including on the exchange of $504 million settlement with the Department of Justice for anti-money laundering, according to Bloomberg.
According to Cuomo:
“The next chapter of financial markets will be defined by how innovation and government regulation can go hand in hand. This partnership brings together OKX’s global blockchain expertise and ICE’s trusted market foundation to help build a modern, transparent and sustainable financial system for the future.”
According to Bland:
“ICE’s global brands and market management technology have earned the trust of organizations and traders everywhere and now, through our partnership with OKX, we are working to expand the reach of OKX’s 120 million traders.”
The move continues to build on ICE’s $25 billion channel investment in OKX announced in March, part of a broader push in crypto infrastructure has included ICE’s nearly $2 billion investment in the prediction market Polymarket and its stablecoin platform Circle’s $222 million Arc presale alongside BlackRock and Apollo.
