The United States has just lifted export controls on Anthropic’s Claude Fable 5 and Mythos 5. The Commerce Department removed both models on June 30, paving the way for the rapid restoration of global access starting July 1.
The decision ends nearly three weeks of negotiations between Anthropic and the White House.
What Promotional Orders Really Mean
Export control is a US law that restricts access to complex technology, including forms of advanced AI, for national security reasons. The Department of Commerce put one on the Claude Fable 5 and Mythos 5 shortly after those models were launched. It has now been officially replaced.
The original order arrived on June 12Three days later the samples became available on June 9. Also, it cited national security concerns associated with the jailbreak of the sample. As a result, Anthropic suspended international access to any products.
This law caused a labor unrest. Segmenting users by country in real time has been impossible in practice. Therefore, Anthropic took all these models offline for customers on Claude.ai, API, AWS Bedrock, and other partner platforms until the situation was resolved.
The company confirmed the change directly. “We have received notification that the Department of Commerce has removed shipping restrictions on Claude Fable 5 and Mythos 5. We will begin restoring access tomorrow, and will share updates shortly,” Anthropic has been sent on June 30.

Why Claude Fable 5 and Mythos 5 Are So Important
Claude Fable 5 is Anthropic is very capable, very accessible. They are built on the powerful Mythos-class design but ships with enough protection for general use. In addition, it excels in conceptual tasks, long-term work, software engineering, and advanced visualization skills.
Mythos 5 focuses on more complex tasks. This model shares the same architecture but includes additional protections for cybersecurity applications. In addition, access was provided to trusted partners through Project Glasswing in the governments and businesses deployed.
Pricing makes both brands competitive across the industry. Anthropic pays $10 per million tokens and $50 per million tokens issued. In addition, the compilers that are designed only send high-risk queries to safe problems, especially in cyber security and biology-related tasks for each product.
