One of the world’s largest medical technology companies is confirming a data breach that could expose the personal information of millions of Americans.
In a press release, Medtronic he says faced a major cyber security breach in April 2026 after an unauthorized organization gained access to their IT systems.
Medtronic says was informed The Indiana Attorney General’s Office said 3,834,294 people were affected by the incident, including the theft. including names, contact numbers, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, and health records.
“On April 15, 2026, Medtronic detected unusual activity on some of the company’s IT systems. Medtronic launched an investigation with the help of third-party security experts to determine what happened and the extent of the incident. experts, we have been working diligently to determine the types of information that may have been illegally accessed and what is associated with them.”
Medtronic says it is now notifying those affected, while offering 24 months of proactive credit monitoring, dark web monitoring, and theft recovery services. So far, the company said it has not seen any evidence that it has been affected by content posted publicly or leaked online.
