The US government has transferred millions to Ethereum from captive crypto wallets that were built by major exchanges in the fall directly to the main business platform.
Officials transferred about 4,820 ETH worth $9.29 million at press time, from FTX and Alameda Research-related addresses to Coinbase Prime.
Blockchain analytics company Arkham Intelligence first of spots to sell.
“WARNING: The US government just moved another $9M ETH taken from FTX/Alameda.
The US government just gave $9.29M ETH to Coinbase Prime. Are they going to sell this, or return it to the creditors?”
The fine is in addition to previous government sales of digital assets seized from unregulated exchanges while assets seized in FTX’s bankruptcy proceedings are still ongoing.
