In short
- Input Output will transfer control of Cardano’s Haskell nodes, Plutus wallet, Daedalus wallet, and Hydra scaling tool to external professional companies starting in August, with a complete transition until 2027.
- The offer comes one day before Van Rossem’s hard fork on July 18 at 21:44 UTC, taking Cardano to Protocol Version 11 and cutting the cost of using smart contracts.
- ADA rose about 2% to about $0.165 on Friday, but remains about 95% below its 2021 high.
The founding father of Cardano is leaving. Input Output announced on Friday that it will provide control of the blockchain infrastructure to foreign professional companies, starting in August – the Haskell platform, the Plutus smart-contract platform, the Daedalus wallet, and the Hydra technology scale are all moving to foreign rights.
Participating companies include Se7en Labs, a development organization based in Solana, and Teragone, a cryptographic research group that is already leading the development of Mithril, Cardano’s signature protocol. At least three independent versions of Haskell, Rust, and Go will run together, overseen by the community organizations Intersect and Pragma. The change is ongoing until 2027.
The a new proverb of blockchain is “Built by many, owned by all.”
The founder Charles Hoskinson called it the final push of the Voltaire era, the leadership and division of shares Cardano has been building since 2024. “Partners are ready, and the environment now has many different options,” he said in the announcement of IOGroup.
Tomorrow-July 18 at 21:44 UTC-the Van Rossem hard fork will be on the mainnet. It was approved on July 13 with 77.63% approval from community representatives, this upgrade takes Cardano to Protocol Version 11 and introduces new built-in Plutus services designed to reduce smart transaction costs.
Cardano, which operates as ADA, is rising by about 2% per day, trading close to $0.165, with a market value of $6 billion. Open the curiosity in ADA futures are around $193 million, with a long and short ratio of 2.84, which means that many traders are still betting on the spike.
At the output, the contribution closes the chapter. The company will focus on research and new ventures through IO Labs and IO Ventures, leaving the community to determine whether a sustainable technology model can move faster than the one it replaces.
Should you buy dip?
Based on the charts, maybe not so much. ADA has not come close to matching its 2024 high near $1.20, and the charts are not encouraging: The currency has been grinding slightly since August 2025, with a 50-week high that is below the 200-week low.
The Relative Strength Index, or RSI, is sitting at 34. The RSI measures momentum on a scale from 0 to 100, where above 70 is overbought and below 30 is oversold. The ADX, or Average Directional Index, measures direction and points to strong long-term trends. Buying here is a leap of faith, not an emotional transaction.
That said, the ADA has taken businesses by surprise before. If Van Rossem delivers on his promise to keep costs down, Leios arrives on time, and sustainable engineering becomes even more profitable than it was, those with 16 cents can take a serious look.
