Breaking Chain Bridge Sending Midnight Signal To All Time Lows


At midnight (NIGHT) the token dropped to $0.01524 after the attacker drained about 515 million tokens from Wanchain’s Cardano (ADA) bridge.

The stolen tokens represent about 97% of the NIGHT database of the bridge. Wanchain stopped the bridge while investigating the breach.

According to researcher Paul, the attacker leaked Wanchain Cardano-side lock address between 14:46 and 14:55 UTC. This address is the one that supports Wanchain-wrapped NIGHT on BNB Chain.

Only NIGHT has left the contract. Other connected properties remained unaffected, according to the analyst. Reserves dropped from 527 million OVERNIGHT to around 12 million. The move has taken away about 97% of the bridge’s storage capacity.

The attacker ran the money through the newly created wallets and sold them on the Cardano exchange. About 290 million NIGHT hits decentralized exchanges (DEXs)lowering prices.
