A major dental provider that manages dental insurance and benefits programs for millions of members says it has been affected by a cybersecurity breach.
DentaQuest he says attackers became part of his system.
“DentaQuest proactively monitors cyber security incidents that affect access to a limited portion of our network.
When we first became aware of the incident, we took steps to protect our environment, to prevent and mitigate those threats. “
Data breach site HaveIBeenPwned he says the breach affects nearly 2.6 million accounts, with names, addresses, email addresses, phone numbers, dates of birth, government-issued IDs and health insurance information at risk.
The company says it was immediately aware of the threat, contacted legal experts and law enforcement, and is now conducting a full investigation.
No disruption to services has occurred, but notifications to affected people are being processed.
Class action lawsuits are being investigated because the members involved follow a pattern of showing good health and personal information.
