The Stratum Working Group v2 is announcing today that ANTPOOL, Block Inc, F2Pool, Foundry, Spiderpool, MARA Foundation, and DMND has joined a working group to advance the implementation of Stratum v2 protocol.
A working group was established in 2022 by Brains and Spiral to develop and maintain the Stratum v2 protocol as an open and neutral system that can be used by the Bitcoin mining ecosystem. The protocol is an evolution of the original Stratum mining protocol, bringing significant benefits, privacy, security, and functionality that can be used to improve decentralized mining.
The presence of new members, all involved in the mining environment, shows the progress of the working group in ensuring that the mines work efficiently and in harmony in real world situations. It also shows the growing consensus in the mining ecosystem that Stratum v2 is the way to go in the future.
“We are proud to support the launch of Stratum V2. “Combining around an open, interoperable standard enables companies to operate more effectively and efficiently in operations, security and distribution,” said Andy Zhou, CEO of ANTPOOL.
Stratum v2 supports the efficient management of large fleets of miners, is maintained end-to-end, and allows miners to create their own templates with support pools (among other features).
Kenway Wang, CTO of Spiderpool said: “Efficiency improvement is a key focus of our work. Stratum V2 supports this by supporting mining templates, as well as improving performance, especially for miners in bandwidth-constrained environments.”
About the Stratum V2 Working Group
The Stratum V2 Working Group is an open collaborative process dedicated to advancing the development, adoption, and interoperability of the Stratum V2 mining protocol. It maintains public information and provides a point of contact between developers and industry stakeholders.
