Bitcoin Breaks Top 100 Altcoins Since 2020, But Charts Show More Pain Through July

Bitcoin (BTC) has beaten almost all of the top 100 altcoins since 2020, and the data chart is now pointing to a downside of about 50% in the broader altcoin market.

The total altcoin market capitalization, which is tracked by TOTAL2, trades close to $864 billion after a weekly low. Two charts explain why the pressure may continue.

Bitcoin Beats the Top 100 Altcoins of 2020 by a Wide Margin

The first chart shows the 2020 top 100 coins at a price of 100. Bitcoin prices in US dollars and every altcoin in Bitcoin terms.

From there, the BTC line rose to 1,000 on a logarithmic scale. Many altcoins, instead, fell from 100 to 10, 1, or lower. This difference means that many former leaders lost 90% to 99% of their value against Bitcoin. Terra Luna Classic (LUNC) was the biggest loser on the chart.

The ranking is important because it measures the opportunity cost. Holding a lot of altcoins means not being able to do a simple Bitcoin job for more than five years. This chart also shows why the investment choice did not help. Even popular projects have struggled to maintain their value when tested against Bitcoin.

A few names near the starting line. However, the main group shows lost years for those who jumped BTC is choosing these survivors instead.

The current downturn hasn’t changed that trend. Bitcoin trades at about $61,228, down about 2% on the day and about 44% over the past year. Meanwhile, altcoins have fallen sharply. In the last 30 days, BTC has dropped about 24% while Ethereum (ETH) has lost about 31%.

Total Market Cap Points to $436 Billion by July

The second chart shows TOTAL2 in a weekly time frame with three circular peaks. The most recent was posted at $1.77 trillion.

History presents two denials of evidence. The 2018 bear market was down 92% in 49 weeks, while the 2021 to 2022 bear market was down 75% in 31 weeks.

This move is about 40 weeks long. Using the recent decline of 75% to $ 1.77 trillion, high-end projects come down to about $ 436 billion.

TOTAL2 is currently at $864.73 billion, down from the $942.62 billion it just lost. The green support shelf near $ 494.05 billion remained low.

A move to $436 billion would break that record and measure $427.57 billion down from 2022. That goal means about a 50% increase from current prices.

The time comes in mid-July 2026, about 40 weeks from the peak. The strong growth of Bitcoin it is still a great resource for withdrawing money from altcoins.

Previous rounds do not guarantee future results. Spot Bitcoin stock trading is moving, and large stocks can short or deep move.

A weekly return of $942.62 billion would weaken the issue. Until then, the system enjoys low rates and delays altseason.
