Crypto Volume Down in 2 Years—Will a Supportive Rally Follow?

On-chain data shows the volume of transactions in the crypto sector has fallen to the lowest level in two years, indicating that investors have lost interest in the market.

Crypto Trading Price Has Seen A Big Drop

In the new post on X, the chain analysis company Santiment has talked about the latest sales volume about crypto assets. “Trading volume” here refers to a token that keeps track of the number of issued tokens that are participating in trading on various central markets.

When the value of the metric goes up, it means that exchanges are seeing more activity around the stock. This means that the brand is attracting attention from traders. On the other hand, a low indicator indicates that investors may lose interest in the market because they are participating in less trading on the exchange.

Now, here’s a chart shared by Santiment that shows how the crypto-cap-top trading volume has changed over the past few years:

Crypto Volume

As shown in the image above, the volume of trading in the combined crypto sector peaked in the middle of 2025. Since then, the token has followed a trend of lower prices for various currencies.

After the recent continuation of the decline, the volume of crypto trading fell to the lowest level since mid-2024. “Traders seem to be reluctant to buy or sell aggressively as high uncertainty, political conflicts, and recent withdrawals deter participants,” the research firm said.

While the current trend may appear to be positive, past trends may indicate something else in the market. “Historically, some of the biggest gains in crypto have come from a time when interest, crowdfunding, and participation were at an all-time low,” Santiment said. With this in mind, it remains to be seen how this sector will grow in the near future.

While the number of cryptos may be declining, the same has not been true raising children. As shown by an analytics company in another X postNumber of Owners, an indicator of the total number of empty addresses available on a given network, has been rising due to various properties in recent years.

Crypto Total Amount of Depositors

From the chart, it is clear Ethereum is the crypto that has enjoyed the strongest launch, with the Total Amount Of Holders sitting at 195 million. “While social media is still focused on the failure of $ETH, user adoption continues elsewhere,” Santiment said.
