India has removed restrictions on 100% ethanol as a motor fuel, paving the way for vehicles that run on diesel fuel instead of imported fuel.
Road Minister Nitin Gadkari signed the file. The decision comes after the war on Iran has forced India to come.
India Opens Door to E100 Ethanol Fuel for Cars
Gadkari announced the decision while addressing a function. He said the government wants to increase domestic fuel consumption over time and rebuild petrol and diesel fuel.
“Last night around 8 p.m., I signed the 100% ethanol files and gave them the orders,” he said. he said. “The country is importing 22 lakh crores. Now, the decision we made to reduce this import…slowly gas will also be produced in the country. An alternative to petrol and diesel will be ready.”

E100 refers to almost pure ethanol. Cars need specially designed engines to burn, and car manufacturers are now building them.
Maruti Suzuki has introduced the flex-fuel WagonR, and Hero MotoCorp has introduced two Mowa-ready motorcycles. Gadkari said Toyota, Suzuki, Hyundai, and MG will follow suit within six weeks.
US-Iran War Reveals India’s Oil Dependence
India exports about 85% of its oil consumption. This reliance became costly after the US and Israel struck Iran on February 28.
