A clothing store linked to FBI Director Kash Patel came under fire on Friday after watchers warned that the website Based Apparel was pushing wallet-smashing malware.
Until the site went dark, macOS visitors were encouraged to install the “ClickFix” malware by copying and pasting a command into their machine’s terminal – which puts tokens, browsers, and crypto wallets at risk via infostealer – the user. he said on X.
The website was reported as “fraudulent” to MetaMask users, who, when trying to visit the site, received a warning from the wallet that identified “malicious events that lead to theft” and other possible threats.
