Oil Prices Rise To $90 As Iran War Intensifies: What It Means For Crypto


Oil just broke $90. Brent crude rose more than 3% on Monday to its highest level since mid-June, as the US-Iran war chokes shipping through the Strait of Hormuz.

The US hit Iran for the eighth night in a row over the weekend. Washington has closed Iranian ports, and Tehran says the route is closed to illegal shipping.

Why Are Oil Prices Rising So Fast?

Brent traded near $91.40 early Monday, up 3.2%, according to Trading Economics data. This adds to last week’s 14% jump. Crude has now rebounded by nearly 30% since its early July lows of around $71.

This meeting has a good start. The June 17 agreement between Washington and Tehran opened the way again, and oil fell from a high of $107 in May to $71.
