Shiba Inu: Does SHIB start the memecoin cycle before August?

Capital invested in speculative assets in an unpredictable market can cut both ways.

According to CoinMarketCap data, the memecoin market may enter the strongest part of the year. Over the past 24 hours, the top-selling memecoins have been doing very well, with Pepe (PEPE), Shiba Inu (SHIB), Dogecoin (DOGE), and others landing among the top 10 gainers. This comes as several major crypto-assets remain in tight consolidation, reflecting growing risk among investors.

Up close, however, the picture looks different. As the chart below shows, the memecoin market cap has topped $1 billion over the same period. Why is this important? It shows that the money is moving slowly rather than going through the “market” of the memecoin market.

In particular, that’s why this setup can cut both ways.

The idea is simple: fixed costs often strengthen the incentive in the short term, but also make the rally more fragile. If attitudes change, crowded places can quickly become free. And as CoinMarketCap pointed out, the derivatives space is heating up.

According to CoinGlass, The value of Dogecoin Open Interest (OI) is up 7%+ this week. SHIB’s setup looks very aggressive, with OI rising 60% in the last 24 hours alone. In short, momentum is rapidly building around the very few memecoins, reinforcing the idea that virtual currencies are starting to take hold.

In a volatile market, this kind of volume can spread quickly in the crypto market. Naturally, the most important question is whether this is the first sign of overestimation that will lead to a big explosion or the first phase of the memecoin cycle.

With August around the corner, the answer may determine whether memecoins will be the market’s main source of risk or its most powerful contributor.

Why SHIB’s rise could reshape memecoin’s history

SHIB it’s making it like memecoin so you can see where this part is going.

Technically, SHIB is leading the memecoin pack, raising 37% over the past week to become the only memecoin in this week’s top five gainers. More importantly, the breakout has also taken $0.000015. Therefore, in just seven days, SHIB has risen again to a two-month high, showing a strong reversal.

The risk, however, is that the opportunity is growing as the cost outweighs the resistance. If early buyers begin to lock in profits, this move could lead to a long-term leak, quickly cooling the memecoin market. An important takeaway? The SHIB meeting does not to appear driven by energy alone.

As the chart above shows, SHIB’s 37% rally has met with over 279.7 million SHIB’s burning, adding to the trend.

At the same time, the number of whales has increased, which means that the demand for land supports the explosion. According to Arkham Intelligence, the famous whale recently acquired 30.18 billion SHIB from Binance in a single transaction worth $125,270. As the signal burn increases and the whales continue to pile up, the SHIB is starting to show signs of being squeezed.

In this context, “FOMO” on the memecoin market may continue to build, which could lay the foundation for more memecoins before August.

Brief Summary

  • High-end memecoins are leading the market, with SHIB taking center stage as a catalyst, and investor interest continues to rise.
  • SHIB’s rally is supported by whale buying and a rise in tokens, fueling hopes for a big memecoin rally in August.
