Toss Brings 30 Million Users into the AI Data Economy in Partnership with Poseidon

June 26, 2026 – Palo Alto, United States

Toss users can now provide global data to train AI and get paid, in a first-of-its-kind initiative launched in Korea ahead of its global expansion.

Poseidona data base designed to acquire and accept real AI data, today announced a partnership with Toss, the mobile money platform operated by Viva Republica, to allow daily users to contribute to AI training and be paid for their contributions. It’s Toss’ first foray into AI data, and opens up the market to nearly 30 million users.

Frontier AI has taken the internet to its knees. The next generation of models relies on real data, the kind that captures how people talk, move, and act, which is not available on the open internet and has never had a clean way to access, consent, or pay for it. Poseidon is building the foundation to change this, and Toss brings the opportunity to do so on a grand scale.

Through this partnership, Poseidon’s app, Numo, is launched within the Toss app. Toss users can contribute to the creation of Korean language teaching data in the form of text, images, and videos, and receive payment based on their contributions. Poseidon provides a platform that tracks each donation and its value, while Toss provides users with financial information that makes participation pay. Together they provide a practical answer to the question that the AI industry has struggled with, how to pay people whose data makes models better.

Every donation made through Numo is registered on DATA, the AI data network that Poseidon cleans its data. DATA provides each document with a reliable way of verification through Trace, its public accounting system, so that the buyer can see where the training piece came from and the contributor can see that their work has been read and paid for. The DATA Foundation, which was launched this week from the Story rebrand, is developing this layer together with partners including the Kled data market, and Poseidon is one of the largest sources of refined data.

What Numo collects is first-person data, written by real people in real places, that are among the most difficult and valuable to access. It is a product of artificial intelligence, an AI that is expected to work globally in robotics, autonomous vehicles, and other applications. The demand from the world’s AI labs for this kind of information is rising, and Korea is in a position to provide this, with real-time information and Toss users. Poseidon and Toss want to prove the model in Korea, and expand the international markets.

Changhoon Seo, Head of New Business at Toss, said: “As the AI industry grows, the demand for high-quality data is increasing rapidly. Toss plans to build an environment where users can participate in the data economy easily and naturally, and develop a system where the benefits they contribute are paid transparently.”

SY Lee, Chief Strategy Officer and Chairman of Poseidon, said: “Korea is one of the few markets where the demand for AI data, the knowledge economy system, and advanced mobile technology all exist at the same time. Lee previously founded the online platform Radish and sold it to Kakao Entertainment, a story that was founded together, an IP resource that was recently transformed into the DATA Foundation, and was named a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum this year.
