- Travala has launched an AI travel protocol for independent bookings.
- The platform supports 2.2 million + hotels with USDC payments.
- Developers get a 10% cbBTC discount on AI-powered bookings.
Travala has launched what it describes as the world’s first AI-driven approach to end-to-end AI, allowing autonomous intelligence to search, book, and pay for travel with minimal human interaction.
The Singapore-based travel booking platform said the new system will enable AI agents to access more than 2.2 million hotel listings, including properties operated by major brands such as Marriott, Hilton, and IHG.
This system allows agents to complete the entire booking process on their own until final payment authorization is required from the user.
The launch comes as interest in agent AI continues to grow across industries.
According to Travala, the total value of e-commerce is expected to reach $8 billion in 2026 and grow to $3.5 trillion by 2031.
The company also cited Morgan Stanley Research, which predicts that independent “marketers” could account for up to 20% of all online retail sales by 2030.
The protocol aims to organize travel reservations
At the heart of this project is the Travala Travel MCP, a Model Context Protocol designed specifically for commercial use.
The protocol works on the Base blockchain and uses the x402 protocol, an open payment protocol designed to facilitate direct stablecoin payments between apps, APIs, and AI agents.
According to Travala, this infrastructure enables the airless movement of USDC on the Base, and the renewal is done instantly and costs about $0.01 per booking.
For consumers, the technology powers an AI travel team that can plan, book, and manage trips through a single conversation within Claude.
The company said the system saves time in searching, booking, and canceling, making it easier to plan a trip.
Travala added that security is maintained through ERC-7715 session keys, ensuring that AI agents can initiate payment requests while the final approval is controlled by the user.
Developer incentives built into the platform
In an effort to encourage adoption, Travala launched a rebate program that aligns with the new policy.
Developers who build and integrate AI assistants with the Travala Travel MCP will receive a 10% rebate in Coinbase Wrapped Bitcoin (cbBTC) for successful bookings completed through their software.
The refunds will be settled directly on the building wallets.
The protocol also includes ERC-8004 technology, which the company said connects an agent’s profile with real-world results.
Travala said this creates a reliable system-based system that aims to reward the best performers and support environmental integrity.
The company sees a major role in the business sector
Travala plans to expand the program over time by adding new travel options, including flights.
The company also said its AVA brand is expected to be further supported as the Travel MCP implementation grows.
“The launch of the world’s first AI transportation system marks the death of the payment button and the start of the autonomous economy,” said Juan Otero, CEO of Travala. “By combining our world-class transportation with the world’s first automated transportation system, we are establishing Travala as an online travel railroad.”
Sam Frankel, Director of Operations at the Base, also highlighted the importance of implementation.
“The base is built to be the home of the onchain economy, and Travala’s Travel MCP is what seems to be happening, the devs are using our tools to use the machines and machines that are stable, independent, and global.
